I need to do some minor repairs to my buzz hull and deck, however I have not had much success in finding the correct colour match. I have tried Topper and White Formula with little success. My boat is number 787 with a blue hull (not dark blue) and grey deck. Can anyone suggest a make and colour of gel coat that is a good match ?
Thank you, Ian. |

I use normal white gelcoat filler made by plastic padding. I then add a SMALL (couple of drops type amount) bit of charcoal gel coat from LDC ( it comes in a small metal tin about £5 I think). That gets the grey colour. Not sure about your blue colour!

Some if not all of the material used by Topper it is made by Cray Valley. I'm sure White Formula at Brightlingsea would give you some if you took some small containers over to them. Alternatively talk to Andy Holmes at Wet and Windy, he used to have it, note it doesn't have a long shelf life, 6 months to a year and then it's had it. |

Speak to Wet and Windy (the usual solution to Buzz problems) I had a bad case of careless Oppies in the boat park leaving serious scarring on the gel coat. W&W supplied the mini pots of correct coloured filler, and sundy stuff to produce a virtually perfect fix. However I now have to do it all again since Garda, as another Oppy learner scraped past me in the boatpark (why can't someone fit those sharp corners with bumbers?)- watch out this summer if you are going!
