Congratulations Stu!
What sort of wind strength were you out in?

Me 'n' Biggus are new to the Boss too, things were going well in F3s...
We went out in a F5, which felt like a quantum leap forward in performance, until we had a mother of a wipe out in a gybe. Rick, alias Biggus, broke a rib as he bounced off something hard and the kicker webbing on the boom snapped. We had a very interesting sail back to the shore...

We'll be back for more soon.

Hey Guys,
I've only recently got my Boss and taken it out 4 times now. Bit of a change from the ISO.
Anyone fancy getting together in the spring with some of the more experienced Boss guys to give us some tips and/or training?

Mike

Good to hear you're getting up to speed Stu!
Yup, the fat boys would be up for a training event - Datchet seems to be a good option, as long as there's some water, and no red boats to hit.
Sheppey sounds like a good idea too - we might get a boat or two up from Medway if there's anybody still there.

I was also thinking about one of the 'one-day' events like Round Sheppey race, Round Mersea Island race (good one this) just to get a good group of Bosses in the same place at the same time.
Mike, do you have a date yet for next year's Shoreham Assymetric event?

Iwill get a few dates from the commodore for next season for a weekends racing and let you all know any prefrences when ie spring, summer etc.
Iwill be doing the island race next year it would be great to get some more boss,s for a bit of fun a rs 800 broke some records this year so it would be great to get some pay back.

Yep! I'm up for some training at Datchet. Some one think of some dates - Can't do end March and we should all be at Ally Pally at beginning of March; so suggest that we look for an early April date.

Shoreham S C sailing calender has not yet been published, but usually around early Sept we go for a Saturday only Assymetric Open with invitation to join club racing on the Sunday. I anticipate that 2006 will be similar.

A meeting at Sheppey sounds good. If we need numbers to make it attractive to the club how about inviting ISO's & Buzz's also.

Also, how about something a bit further north. It's a heck of a trip down from Cheshire for TelBoy to all these S.E. events, even if there are overnight beds available.

Thanks for the mention for the 'boys up North'. Ian R has made some good points: an event on the sea at Prestwick and an 'inlands' on Loch Lomond.

Me 'n' Tel would be on for some training...

PLEASE keep us posted. Ta
