Since the Buzz site is looking a bit bare and out of date since the server crash I though we should get some Buzz chat going about the Nationals in August! Who else is attending? Buzz 987 will be there with (we hope) lots of new crews from the south west as well as all the other regions. Apparently camping is available close by although B&B in Falmouth will no doubt be in abundance. Any hot tips from the ISO sailors who were there last year about parking, launching, and partying?

Parking - arranged by the Restronguet crew in the local car park - well almost local about half a mile back in the village. Parish Council rules.
Launching - dead easy as it's down hill all the way. It's recovery after the races that's the challenge.
Partying - The BBQ in the club house went down a treat. Just needs a hint or two to the bar staff to get another couple of barrels in stock .... The Village bars helped out with the night cap - and breakfast the next morning !
Seriously good venue - on and off the water - with a great organising shore crew lead by Chris Webber last time around. ISO 814 has it in the diary |

Buzz 1061 will be there along with several others from Downs SC. We've already booked a B&B close to the clubhouse. I'm not looking forward to the drive down before a Bank Holiday - but its sounds like the venue will be worth it. On a separate topic - does anyone know how to get event reports onto this website? I've sent in several, including the one from last year's Nationals, but they haven't yet appeared on the events list.

Definately worth the drive down. Launching is off the beach which is relativly flat so not a problem at all. The short road up to the dinghy park is a bit steep but nothing with the help from some friends.
They have quite a large ISO fleet, and there is an ISO open too so should be a few boats there.
Fast motorway style roads most of the way and although it can get quite busy on THE road into Cornwall it is generally not too bad out of peak times!

Chris How many Buzzes have sent in application forms so far?
We're hoping for a really good turn out to beat the 20+ we had at the excellent Nationals at Deal last year.
Come on Buzz fleet - it's always great fun for all levels of ability. We usually have a pro-am event as well which partners the top half of the fleet with the bottom half to share those valuable tips which you won't get anywhere else.
The more Buzzes on the water, the more fun it will be. Nuff said!

... I'd suggest Garda as the perfect training before the nationals!
Will I see you here in Italy? check my post in the General/Eurocup thread.
