next question.......Whilst we did'nt make Calshot we did manage to get out Sunday in a bit of a blow and had great fun...however, following some hefty capzizes and other unintentional abuse our and fairly tired Sobstad 'pink' sails are really staring to show serious signs of wear and tear. Has anyone any tips on repair as we want to keep them going (cheaply !) this season whilst we perform our capsize antics.........
Thanks

Hi Neil
Good to hear you are getting out in the fun stuff !
Depending on the size / nature of the hole - Viking Direct glass reinforced parcel tape does an excellent job.
If you end up with a tear then the tape can be overstitched around the edges using waxed thread and your domestic sewing machine. Not necessarily pretty - but keeps you on the water and is certainly cheap !!
The old mylar jibs can also be taped in the same way. Generates all sorts of mirth in the dinghy park before the race - but still performs pretty well - and wipes the smirks away after the race... Makes the jibs last at least another couple of club seasons with no problem while you master the upright strategy.
