We are currently sailing Boss 748 and could do with a slightly improved mainsail. We are using a Converted Carbospars mast. The one sail we have found at the moment has a topper international patch at the luff rather than sobstad. Also the material looks different from the photos, ( whiter, with white fibres in it rather than clear with black fibres as on our existing sail).

Does anyone know what this sail is and if it will fit our mast??

If it's what I think it is, that sail is an old Fitzwilliam main, which was the first attempt at the Boss mainsail shape before Sobstad got involved. If so, then I'd steer clear of it - the top of the sail is very different ( a very long top batten I seem to remember).
I think we disposed of our last sail that could fit the older mast, but I'll have a look in the collection of sail rolls lying around and see if anything is usable
Where are you sailing? Any interest in coming to a training session?

Sailing on the south coast, currently in Dover for the winter (nice short reaches to keep us busy) and then sailing either Hythe or Deal for the summer months.

Definately interested in training events, could do with some tips ona few things although breakages appear to be the limiting factor at the moment.

If anyone does have a mainsail for an old mast that is lying around and could be generating some cash then please let us know.

Take a look at the Training thread - looks like it could be interesting for you. Maybe people can bring along all their spares and bits and pieces and we could have a farmer's market....

Hi Rob, Me 'n' Bigguss are based in Stockport - south Manchester...
Are you considering the 'training weekend' at Dachet... we hope to be there.
Bigguss is out and about quite in the course of his work - I'll speak to him tonight - might be able to meet up somewhere.

Rob, as Tel Boy said we are in Stockport but i do travel a lot to all places in UK. Where are you?
I am around Bristol a great deal at present but its not a problem to send the sail to you via a carrier.
Do you want photos of sail?
My e-mail is rkelly4180@aol.com if you want to contact me.
