For the last couple of years, your class committee has been (let's be frank) pretty moribund. Since the last chair and sec left, a few of us - essentially myself, John (Pork Pie) Shelton and the Murrays - have done our best to keep things going - e.g. the Dinghy Show, plugging evebts as best we can, and so on. This really has been an exercise in plugging away to very limited effect. Encouragingly, there are some signs of revival within the class, with boats that used to be growing weeds now in the hands of new and more enthusiastic owners. But so far this has not translated at all into attendance at open events.

So... do we want to have an open circuit at all, or are people (geographically scattered as we are) really only interested in blasting round or club handicap racing. What sort of class do we want to try and be - realistically, given where we are now?

Above all, are there people out there prepared to give some thought and a bit of time to help make it happen? We are getting old and tired (well I am, and John's off the Pork Pies, so he'll be half the man he was!)

Speak for yourself old man!! Today I'll be mostly eating pizza.
But seriously folks, does anybody out there want to race with other Bosses? What are the plans for the Inlands? (apart from the fact that 'old and tired man' Peter will not be there

I'm going to make my decision after this weekend. Should I ...............

Have a last fling of the season in the ISO? It's been a bit neglected lately.

OR

Embarrass myself by showing just how much I have yet to learn about sailing my Boss.

I think that I'll watch the forecast for the weekend, and just have both ready for the road.

Go for the Boss Mike, it's guaranteed perfect Boss weather that weekend. If you want someone at the front to do the work Chris, let me know. That will make 3 Bosses on the water if the Murrays show up (but then they've got a long way to go)

As me 'n' Biggus have only had our Boss for a couple of weeks our sailing standard in anything like a F4 is akin to two drunks trying to ice skate!
We are keen and want to try a race or two and will make the trek to the south / south coast sooner or later from our Manchester base.

But as far as inspiring new sailors or even upping the interest level one thing we both agree on is that the web site need a good sorting out or even just bringing up to date.

There are also, it seems, a growing number of Boss sailors in the north of England and Scotland...

How about holding the Inlands on Loch Lomond one year (if you fancy a 3 mile blast between the marks).

And, yes, even though I'm no Web Master I would consider helping out with or taking on the web site... with a little help from you guys - ie some up to date pics etc.

Pete, I have e-mailed you directly using the address in your "Profile'. Just in case the message didn't reach you, I would be willing to give the web site a go. But can you give me some advice first... Thanks Terry

Like the idea of Loch Lomond but why go inland when my home club Prestwick is an hour and a half further south has great sea sailing and hosted the Scottish Skiffs 2005. Why not contact or view
www.scottishskiffracing.com
and see if we can get some Boss action in it.
