I have been looking at the ISO tweaks section on improvemnts to the outhaul controls. Does this require an extra block in the boom? It seems to suggest this but not too sure. Is a new longer outhaul rope required or is it an extra section added at the gooseneck? How do you replace the rope if required and/or get inside the boom etc.
On a similar thread - can anyone advise the best way to replace the main and jib halyards?

The best info really is
http://www.isoracing.org.uk/iso_guides/isotweaks/outhaul.htm

Two pieces of rope are required for the outhaul. One for the purchase that you see in the pics. The other ties onto the top of a small block inside the boom then to the clew of the sail.

I'm not sure what you mean when you ask how to get inside the boom to replace the rope.

See you at the dinghy show on the 1st & 2nd March.

Pete

Hi Pete, Thanks for the reply - what I meant about the boom was concerning the floating block that is mentioned. Do you need to run a new longer rope in place of the existing one and if so how is this attached to the floating block and fed along the boom.
Mark
ps unfortunately can't get the dinghy show - apparently we have to go to a wedding!

Outhaul page modified. Does the new diagram help at all?
