The wings on the new ISO if they go ahead will they be possible to fit on a old ISO? I think that they look much better than the original solid style wings! thanks alot chris ISO633 |

Hi Chris, I thought I sold you an ISO, not a Laser 4K !!! hahahaaha
The 'new' wings @ the Show were a mockup to see if owners were interested in changing, and I believe the view was that it was not deemed beneficial in terms of cost or weight or anything else. You'll just have to get older and fatter and then you wont need them !!
Hope 633 White Riot is going well
Cheers

......The 'new' wings @ the Show were a mockup to see if owners were interested in changing, and I believe the view was that it was not deemed beneficial in terms of cost or weight or anything else .....
The concept wings at the show were produced to see if there was sufficient interest yet in a tubular alternative. They could be made lighter, heavier or the same weight as the original GRP ones and considerably cheaper. The idea would have been to allow a tubular alternative for those who must use wings and whose GRP ones were getting beyond the pale to keep costs for older boats as low as possible. No racing advantage would have resulted. Some would say unfortunately the discussion got sidetracked into other, often peripheral, arguments regarding wings on this forum. Further that the wording of the proposal eventually presented to the full association membership somehow ended up missing the crux of the matter.
Perhaps White Formula, the technical sub-committee and the design rights holders would like to take this one up in the future.
