Can anyone explain the purpose of the elastic strap that runs underneath the gunwale at the prow? Is it to strap the boat to the trailer?
Or has it got anything to do with fishing?
Or long distance sailing?
Or safety?

I'm confused!

Ian,

The elastic at the bow is probably for holding the spinnaker sock in place, does it go through the small holes below the gunwale, across the front of the spinnaker sock and around the front of the bow?

Some Buzz owners just use rope to tie the spinnaker sock in place, about 3mm diameter, however if your spinnaker sock is in place ok then leave as it is.

Additional rigging is required for fishing and best attached to the toe strap fittings!!
