OK, so me 'n' Biggus are still very new to this game and we are getting some conflicting 'advice' on stuff... so back to basics. Given that the kite is up and the helm is doing his best with the steering stick... who is holding which bit of string and is anything cleated off? Once we get the hang of this we could be dangerous! |

One thing I have found VERY useful with the jib sheets is to not use a continuous sheet system, but two seperate sheets. You can then tie the ends to the trapeze handles (make sure they are long enough first!) and then you will always have the sheet to hand, even when flat out on the racks. The crew can then play both kite and jibsheets. A) it looks posey, and B) it means you don't have a hand free to poke the helmsman in the eyes when he c*&ks up the gybe, and C) it's FAST. Upwind, it can be a good idea for the crew to play the mainsheet, but I'm too lazy |
