Congrats to Neil and Sam - 2008 National Champions.

Great weekend's sailing - good winds all 3 days - and some excellent social banter in the evening.

Thoroughly enjoyed it - thanks to all who attended.

Good to see 4 new boats and their crews attending - would be hepful to hear what you all thought of your 1st ISO Nationals.

Cheers

Chairman Bob - again !

Well being my 1st ISO nationals i would have to say it was the best nationals socially and race wise. The racing couldnt have been tighter with 5 boats able to win on the last day. The socials were excellent with plenty of discussion about the days racing and tips. My girlfriend came to the event not knowing anybody bar pete and annie and remarked on how friendly the class was.
roll on next year

Don't forget Stuart and Zoe - Buzz National Champs - well done to them. They fought of stiff competition from the Down's crowd who put up a good fight taking 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th. Also good to see Candice and Bryn (or is that Team Bryndice?)up there in the mix in 4th (he, he - they have the report to write now).

Thanks to all those who made it a great event including Stuart and Colin for arranging the event; Josh for organising the tee-shirts (I think we looked great as a class) and also for doing our website; Penny and Roger for findng B&B tel numbers; Roger, Penny and Andy for ensuring the Class Association keeps ticking along (and going forward), Simon, Stuart and Josh for volunteering to be on the technical Committee; all those who joined in (particularly newer faces including Clare and Jason and their son); and lastly all those at Paignton who ran a great event - hurray all round!

See you at Rutland
Jane and Mark

Congrats to Neil and Sam from LLoyd and KT. I have done the report and it should be on Y&Y today. Well done to Bob and Luke also. Luke said on Sunday that I would be writing the report and he was right. I will have to try and get my revenge at the inlands !-)

Well done Neil and Sam for their ISO victory and well done to Stuart & Zoe for their Buzz victory. It was one of the closest events I've been to for a while with regards the points. Both ISO and Buzz fleets had very few points separating the top 4 boats. Excellent!

ISO report and results now also on the ISO website. Well done Lloyd and Katie for such prompt actions with this.

Will Rutland have the same close racing as Paignton though? Looking forward to finding out!!!

Pete

Great write up.

I too was considering taking up gardening, or maybe even golf after seeing the results after the first day Well done to all, sounds like a great event. I was very sorry not to be there but this is the first ISO/Buzz Nationals I have missed since 2001 and I had a half decent excuse.

Let up hope the racing at Rutland is as close as this, and I find a crew!

Congrats to Neil and Sam from Laura and I too!

As newcomers to the ISO (and to dinghy racing really) we had a great time at the nationals and learnt a lot, despite deciding not to go out on the Monday in the end.

Many thanks to Bob, Luke, Pete, Lloyd and Katie for all the tips, help and encouragement, and especially to Lloyd for selling us his spare boom so we could get out on Sunday having broken ours on Saturday!

Looking forward to the inlands - hope to see many of you there.

Cheers,

Alex and Laura (676)

Congrats to Stuart and Zoe from the Downs contingent. Very enjoyable weekend, the only down side for me was loosing my glasses sometime between prize giving and hitching up. If anyone by chance had any sighting of any glasses on Monday or any info I'd be grateful.
Thanks John

Hi Alex / Laura - great to see some of the KGSC training folks coming along and braving the Nats. Very pleased to see you there - and enjoying it.

If you want to come up to KGSC one Sunday for a play / further tips drop me an e-mail and we'll see if we can help further.

Cheers

Bob

Hi Josh, There are some photos on the knpix.co.uk website, there is a link to it through paigntonsailingclub.com - it looks like they will be adding more.

Cheers all

Trust me this one had worldwide coverage! I was checking in on the results in Nepal.. Needless to say it was more stressful than a Star Medal Race.

Ian, golf??? You need a crew, I might of lost a few kgs by next year too. Getting a bit of practice in at the moment, about to go from Singapore to Sydney on a cat. Better than working for a living...

I have not found a regular crew since you left so if if you do ever come back I am sure I'll still be looking. Always plenty of opportunity for crews anyway, especially those under 78 kg
