Yesterday we made our first sail with our 1001 after somedays of re roping/ repairing/ adjusting to make it sailable..
We wanted to try our new hydes...
The really look awesome.. though I hope they will hold..
We also got a new Hyde kite and after we first unpacked it we compared it with an old sobstad one..
Hyde are much bigger I suppose (2-3 m2 extra??) and has a different (rounder) cut.. ??

I think they will be faster, and probably suitable to sail deeper.. What are de experience with Hyde on the circuit...
Has everyone coverted to Hydes or can one still sail competitive in the fleet with sobstad?
We converted to Hyde because we hope being able to sail the boat in +5 Bf (and with Sobstads struggle with sobstad (over) power to the windward mark...)

Sobstads are harder to sail with, but should be fine in a force 5 to 6 BF (but like you say - hard work).

Hydes are much kinder on the muscles!

Hyde Kite is a bit bigger and a different cut. The Hyde kite is much quicker downwind than the Sobstad kite.
