Hi,
Based in France, I have just bought the ISO 1187 and was wondering if I need a certificat or something similar to race?
Thanks.

Hi, where do you sail in France ?
No specific certificates exist for the ISO.

We will be sailing a combined Italian-Swiss-French-German event next year, possibly over a week-end, close to Geneva or Zurich...

let's keep in touch

Unfortunately I am based near Paris, which is not great for sailing but allow me to keep contact with the boat every weekend on a lake at Viry-Chatillon. Otherwise I have done the race at Carnac with Breizhskiff last september.
Of course keep me posted on this coming event as soon as you have got the date.
It would be great if English ISO would cross the channel?!?!

UK boats are very welcome if they come... but also boats from the Nederlands, Belgium, ...(I personally promise a bottle of red wine for the boat coming from farest as I did this year at EC....)

I still don't know where Eurocup is going to happen in 2009 (I expect Colin to come out with a proposal on this)

What we are setting up, on top to Eurocup, is an event outside Italy to get together the Swiss and French boats...
If Nick will be able to organize a German championship I hope some italians (why not, also British) will be able to attend as well.

Fred,
I would be very happy if you can get in touch with other iso owners in France and get them together...
Looking on Breizhskiff there seems to be almost 20 iso in france...
Sebastian (French, living in Italy, owner of a buzz) posted a message on Breizhskiff to get in touch with French owners...

I think we are not the class that will move to 10 events around europe, but still I think that if we identify a target of 2-3 events (possbily already existing, like Breizhskiff events in order to reduce the effort for organizing) around europe as "get together" events that would help us to grow in each country...

I have only met 2 others ISO on Breizhskiff at the Carnac event but I am fairly new to this stuff. Unfortunately French ISOs do not seem to be really active.
However from the results communicated, there are regurlarly people from other European contries at these events such as Cherub from UK, Irish RS700, 29erXX from Italy to name a few,...and it's really good fun. I am sure that the organisators would be very happy to see a lot more participants, including ISO.
Once finalised, I will communicate the link of the 2009 calendar.

Hi Fred,
have a look to the France Open Skiff event (www.ycder.com), Eastern 2009 at Lac du Der, 2.5h from Paris. We expect you to be in Treves at Ascension Day's weekend (4h from Paris, 1h from Metz).

For the racing near Paris there is a nice circuit organized in the Benelux area. People are speaking French and English.
