I would like you all to know that this Buzz is still for sale. I had thought I had sold it to Thomas Mcashley (mcashleyterry@yahoo.co.uk)However it was a 'SCAM'. What happened was that I was sent a Bank draft from the Ulster Bank, College Green, Dublin for £5,000. £2,000 was owed to me for the Buzz and I was asked to send the remaining £3,000 to his courier: - Tony Adams, 16 Allen Avenue Road, Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria via The western Union. This meant that I was to withdraw the £3,000 in cash. Luckily for me I went to the police instead! The police told me that this is known as the "Nigerian Scam" more often with selling cars but they have now moved on to dinghies. What happens is the cheque appears in your account, you send them the money 2 days later the draft is declared fraudulant and is withdrawn from your account & you end up owing your bank £3,000. Please pass this on to all your friends and I am still looking to sell BUZZ 914

Thanks for highlighting that little scam we will all be on our guard in future. May I ask where did you originally advertise the boat?

Hi,
This scam appears anywhere, yachts and yachting, boads and outboards, anywhere on internet. It is also very common on sites like autotrader when selling cars, etc.
It is normally easy to spot due to the bad grammer and the fact that they are always very happy with the price, etc and want to arrange shipping of the item very quickly. They are getting slightly cleverer and asking a few questions about the boat/ car first, but as mentioned above, beware!!
