I can also arrange for some video footage to be taken and used in a debrief, maybe use that as promotional footage as well

OK, 812 is up for it. Anyone else? I suggested elsewhere that people bring along their various spare sails/masts/bits and pieces, and those that need to get on the water could make offers

748 will be there, we may need to beg borrow and steel to fix whatever is likely to have broken at the time (especially masts and mainsails)

Well done Nick - sounds like we'll have a few bodies there. Don't worry about being at the back of the grid, 'cos we'll just push you to the front, that's the whole point of it. It might be a good idea to discuss other 2006 events, so we can get some numbers up. See you at Datchet!

Sounds like this could become a good training session, so how many boats do we think we've got? Anymore gonna come outta the wood work?
For payment, make cheques payable to: Mr. N Murray.
Il then forward the money to the different parties. The video guy is taking £5 out of the £10 entry fee, this includes him video editing the recording to be used at the dinghy exhibition.
The more boats we have will mean the better the video will look!!!
regards
Nick M

Nick, I'll send you a cheque shortly. Does that cover the entry fee for racing on the Sunday Winter Warmer? Bearing in mind the Dinghy Show is the following weekend, can the video guy sort out a DVD by then? I can bring a laptop and monitor to the show if it's a goer.

By the way, will there be any format to the training, i.e. who's doing the training? Or is it a case of shouting from a RIB and analysing the video afterwards?

By the way, it would be good if we can get Stuart Jones out of hibernation, although he might still be in Oz for the Contender Worlds......

Just checked out the sight after some time of it being stagnant, FAB!!! I will speak to the crew and check the dates but numbers are looking up If we can we will be there, have not been on the circuit for ages.

Date for the diary in the summer would be Chichester Harbour Federation Week 7-11th August. There are loads of 800's and a couple of 5000's. We are always the only boss. Its a fab event to get profile and publicity for the boat as there are usually about 300 boats racing. Fab socials as well.

Training sounds good value for money as well.

Hopefully see you all soon.

Hope this is still going ahead. Shall I post an article on the Y&Y website? Might as well publicise. I hope all those who showed interest are still planning on being there!

Oh NOOOOO! Biggus and me will not be able to get to the training weekend much to tour frustration... as work is again dominating the weekend. We were both looking forward to the event so much (as well as really needing some expert advice). Hope you all have a great time!

FIngers crossed - I / we hope to be at the Dinghy Show but I have a major work deadline to hit on the 21st March... I have not got the hang of 'the Work / Life Balance' thing yet everything seems tilted in favor of WORK.

So, in case you were wondering how it went.... the planned event on Saturday was blown off, but we had a really good blast on the Sunday. Should be some good video footage.
