Well done Tel for getting the video on the website. Only problem - I can,t play it. Quicktime says it is missing some software required to play it, and cannot find it on the Quicktime server. Anyone else having the same problem? Ideas?

I have the same problem.

Possibly go for a few fade in fade out frame grabs of the video, then download the entire video to the hard drive of the user.

I am having no problems and think it's great, thanks. P.S. you need the pro version of quicktime to download it.

Only have the free version. Not going to start paying for subscriptions / upgrades I'm afraid.

ok ok, so what quicktime is every1 running at the moment?
It should work with version 7 or pro, there are loads of software cracks and codecs available online to get the vid 2 work such as:

I must have a version problem. This machine at work has only version 6 so I'll download the latest and let you know. I have the same approach to subscriptions/upgrades as Pete especially when the installer tries to change all your default file associations

Yup, it's a version thang. Downloaded version 7 of QT and it's OK now. Maybe TelBoy can add 'Version 7 of Quicktime Player required' and a link to http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone.html

That link avoids having to download iTunes also.

By the way, we topped out at 17.5 knots on the GPS on one of those downhill bits.....nice.

Yeah, but if you play the vid backwards, we overtake you. Sailing backwards is MUCH more difficult, so we must score more points.
Thanks for the DVD - see you at the nats, assuming the offer of a floor is still on.....

The link to apple mentioned above and here:
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone.html

enabled me to view the video. Excellent job guys.

Could Tel please amend the following though:

- the link from the nav bar opens the page in a new browser (amend to open in the same browser)
- provide further information once clicked on the nav bar link i.e. file is x big, will stream live from the server, you need this prog for it to work (link to apple). Then provide a link from here to view the video?

Pete

Hi folks,

Sorry but have been out of circulation for a while due to work pressures...

Have made the revisions to the Vids page - new video to follow later today!
