Please come and make a lonely ISO happy. Langstone SC’s Asymmetric open is on October 1st/2nd. With plenty of ISO’s locally we should have a separate start. LSC is on the bridge to Hayling island. There is a good expanse of relatively sheltered water in the harbour next to the club, so ideal for a late coastal event. Indications of interest would be helpful. Colin 1190

Colin, I would love to come along but unfortunately I shall be out of the country on 1st / 2nd October.
However don't let that stop you and others coming east to join us at Shoreham for our Asymmetric Open on 10th September. |

Mike, Not sure I will be 'allowed' to do 2 weekends in a row (it is Emsworth Slippers Regatta the previous weekend (Sunday 4th September) but I will try. Colin

So at Restronguet, there was rumours of quite a few of us coming down to Langstone for the open. Anyone else willing to confirm? ISO 760 (Rich and Jon) are planning to attend this (assuming no fuel shortages stop us from travelling down from Lancashire!!).
Fixtures list suggests we should pre-register but could see how looking at the LSSC web site? |

Hi Rich, Glad to hear you are coming. There isn't any pre-registration (I think you may have read the line above (Restronguet) on the fixture list). We just wanted to get a rough idea of numbers. One reason is to see whether a seperate ISO start is warranted but I think we now have enough for that just based on local boats. Colin

Hiya,
My Dad has kicked me off his boat for this one (you can grill him on why !Colin!) but I'd love to sail, so if anyone was thinking of going but hasn't got a crew then let me know. (I'm not exactly the best, but this was my own club so depending on which harbour we sail in could be useful!)
Barry: I did a google search for camping near Hayling Island. I think these were the most useful sites: http://www.stilwell.co.uk/show_town.asp?Q=camps%7CL4150734 http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/townlisting.asp?town=Hayling%20Isla nd

Apologies for absence - family duty called.
Trust we missed a good 'un - judging by the bent trees outside the window ?? Look forward to reading all about it in the race report.

Thanks to Colin and all those at Langston sailing club. It was a great weekend of sailing with a 5-6 on sat and a 4 and a bit for most of sunday. The racing was a little spred out but fun as usual.
Shame that only six boats turned up especially when there are so many local boats. But good to see some new faces.
Langston would be a great one to put in next years callender if we dont already have an event in October. Oh and if they will have us back.
Thanks again
Rob and Barry

Thanks to all those who came. It was great to see some ISO's at the club again.. and meet some new friends. Bit dissapointed that I only managed to finish one race of my 'home' event. Saturday was too windy (think I need some heavy wind gybe practice as I didn't survive a single one!) Then the kicker broke and we had to retire. Thanks to Rob and Barry's boom repair services we were quickly fixed up. Sunday we were doing ok until I had crew failure (probably brought on by the amount of swimming I gave him on Sat.)
