Ok Ive got the ball rolling for the Buzz's with the highest speed tha t Fe Fe managed on the final day of the Eurocup.

Should be easy to beat as we were just soaking low so come on all you people with a GPS, proove a Buzz will go quicker!

i was quite surprised to read on the y&y website that in a force 5 you would soak low. i thought this would be time to get out on the wire and really use the apparent wind? would love to have been there, sounds like it was a fantastic event. cheers, alex |

Unfortunately you rarely get enough apparent wind in a Buzz to make it pay. And even on the days in which it might, you tend to loose less going deeper if its wrong than you would the other way around.
We did sail a bit higher in the last race after blowing the penultimate one and loosing our chance of victory, as it was more fun, but we were loosing probably 20yrds on the lead boats on each downwind leg doing it!

Excellent - well done Ian.
Roll on Datchet (or King George) - that's where we have recorded our fastest speed. We went quite fast at Chew as well, but ran out of water!
