The time has come for me to replace the rudder stock and tiller. I have put it off for as long as i can but I really do have to now.
Topper want over £200 for the 2 part stock and tiller, anyone know of any spares going from anywhere. Where I have sailed most of the time in a fairly shallow harbour with lost of banks it has just had enough!

Has anyone tried a rudder stock/blade from another class?
Was mike perry not on about experimenting, just seems like alot of money to me for a very crude and 'old fashioned' system.
For example as there are more active 49er's for that change kit reguly they might be a cheap source if it could be made to fit??

49er foils are far too small, as the 49er is generally steered by heeling the hull and sail positioning. The boss requires huge blades, more super tanker sized! |

No, it wasn't me on about experimenting.
I think that you are thinking of Mike Lyons. He has done some work on an alternative rudder stock, but I am unsure of how far he got with it. |
