Hi folks, once again no time to do my own survey this year so this selection from AA data. I have seen on a recent visit some things that don't fit in, eg holland is cheaper than France for diesel, Germany cheaper than italy etc. However the old guidelines apply, fill up in Luxembourg and in Austria to save cash for Bardolino Valpolicella Vagabondos etc.

UK pence per litre
Country Unleaded Diesel
Luxembourg 68.96 59.24
Austria 69.1 63.28
France 78.41 70.13
Netherlands 92.38 71.57
Switzerland 66.39 72.59
Belgium 86.91 73.89
Italy 82.73 75.13
Germany 80.81 75.26

I am travelling to Germany on evening July 20th and will get to Malcesine on Sunday 24th, is anyone else around then?

Just booked my ferry, amazed to find £80 single (or £160 return) with Seafrance off the website!!! I imagine everyone else has already booked more than 10 days in advance.

Yeah,

634 Will be there around lunchtime on Sunday. According to Graham, who's just been out there, the A4 between Namur and Lux is a road work at the moment so you might want to think about swinging north. I know I'm considering it as a new route even if 70 miles longer.

We're on the 14:45 Norfolk Line to Dunkerque ( £187 ) Friday 22nd - so should roll into Malcesine late Saturday night - all ready for the 12.30 wind on Sunday 24th

The Emsworth contingent(Mike, Dean, Mandy, Andrew & Vicky) are planning to head out on Friday night, so should be in Malcesine for Sat evening, ready for a drink or two at vagabondi's if we're not totally knackered by then.

This website shows the traffic problem around Luxembourg:
http://www2.bison-fute.equipement.gouv.fr/travaux/travaux2.htm
(it's in French but most of you are fairly intelligent?)
Message appears to be - don't go there.
There is also a closure of autoroute for bridge repairs around Metz, so the whole area appears poisoned....
We'll be at Malcesine around lunchtime on Sunday, see you all there.

And for those whose linguistic skills need a bit of assistance...

Paste the web site address Richard advises into the appropriate box, select French to English and hit the Translate button - gives a pretty good translation
