We are planning on travelling to Garda for ISO eurocup. Can you give me some more details like cost of event, is there a campsite nearby etc? we are trying to work out how much the whole thing is likely to cost, and would also appreciate any other tips from people that have been before!!
Many thanks
Tim

The final arrangements are just being made - so don't quote me on the following which are based on my costs from last year :-

Event - around £120 entry for the 5 days racing including after race beer and pasta.

Campsites - several in the Campagnola area just to the North of Malcesine plus plenty of hotels, guest houses and villas. Best area to stay is in Malcesine or on the North side. The club is at Navene about 4km from Malcesine.

I took my family down there last year - 4 of us including all fuel ( I have a gas guzzler ), ferry, racing, meals, beer, hotels on the way out and back (we took the scenic route each way), wine at Calais, was about £2500 over the 2 weeks we spent out there. I was very happy with that.

Route - down through Germany to Innsbruck and the Bremmer Pass is the way to go. Surpisingly painless drive. Couple of people have the details which I'm sure they'll publish in due course along with web sites - here's a starter but it isn't the best http://www.malcesine.com/eng/

http://www.fragliavela.org - is the club's web site. Shows the new club house and facilities - plus has accomodation links.

Ferry - through Alternative Promotions - again the phone number will get published soon enough. They do the best deal going that I know about.

Green Flag to cover your car and trailer - no one else I spoke to will guarantee getting the trailer home - and they're cheaper.

Check your bearings, buy some new trailer tyres ( a whole £35 the pair ), take a spare just in case - couple of people did need them. Load up and have a great time.

....and take any boat spares you can carry as well.
