Is the Boss supposed to have a breather hole (like the Iso)? Can't find one in mine.

Breather hole on 755 is on the top starboard corner of the transom. Looks like it has been covered with black tape for ages. not realy a problem until I manage to find all the other holes where sea is getting in! |

wow, I didn't know there was a breather hole. I bet all the air goes in and out through the various holes in the deck

Thanks Mike, I'll have a look in that area to see if mine is the same.
My study takes a bit more time than hoped for. Exams are on Saturday. Hope to have my first sail on Sunday. I'll let you know if I've survived it. |

Diederik,
If you don't find the breather hole on the transom, have a look around the raised area of the mainsheet block in the centre of the hull. I seem to vaguely remember someone telling me it was there. Frankly, I wouldn't worry. I've owned Bosses since the beginning and there are so many unintended breather holes, primarily leaky fittings, that you do not get a problem with the hull blowing up. Check for water after you go sailing. You should only get really concerned if you get a serious blast of escaping air when you unscrew the bung. Mine does blast air, but it also leaks water suggesting that the fitting gaps close up when I'm sailing. Regrettably, I've never come across a Topper manufactured boat which didn't leak, at least in the four I've owned (1 Iso, 3 Bosses) - take this as a simple fact rather than a moan!!
Oh and good luck with your sail on Sunday. The best advice I can give is to unclip from the trapeze before you gybe. I neglected to do this on my first sail. Trust me, it's ugly, but very entertaining if you are near the clubhouse.

Can't find any official hole, but there is no pressure building up. So that seems to be OK |
