Does anyone know what the jib area is on a Spice? I have managed to get 2 jibs which should be from a Spice, but unfortunately i cant be sure because my Spice didn't have one!!

Alternatively, can a Spice owner measure theirs for me please? I have just measured the ones i have and the foot is 1.72m long, the luff is 4.3m and the leach is 4.18m, a quick bit of maths suggests that this equals 7.3m squared approximately, which seems quite large if the total sail area is 15.4m squared?

Any help appreciated, i still need a kite, rudder stock and daggerboard . . .

Stuart.

Go back to School Stu B. Area of a triangle = a * b / 2 (Assuming the clew is a right angle which it is pretty close to) so your sail is 4.18 * 1.72 / 2 = 3.59 m2.

Can't help you on its size other than I know the Spice jib is a little larger than an ISO one.

Ian
