Hi guys, I'm going to move at least three boats to Italy shortly, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to do so. Did anyone try to put 2 boats with the lower in normal position for transportation, the upper being facing backward and turned upside down ? Of course I'll need a lot of padding (?) between the boats, but I think it may save some space in height, thus allowing me to get more boats on the trailer,... If I make a simple structure with pipes for having two layers I could take up to 4 boats.... (I hope I was clear with my explanation...)
Anyone have any tip/experience with this ?

Very clear Marco.
Very dodgy as well!
Have you contacted Jubby ( www.Sailboatdeliveries.com) to see if he could deliver them for you?
jubby 'AT' sailboatdeliveries 'DOT' com
That is his job. See how much it would cost for him to deliver.
Pete

Not directly related but might be useful to someone.
I'm travelling to Netherlands via Dover on 13th December to collect a boat from a different class. I've got a free return ticket for the car (Round Sheppey Race - P&O sponsored !) but the cheapest way to get a boat/trailer back across was to buy a round trip trailer ticket in addition. So I'm without trailer on the way out but with a ticket for one. Anyone needs to get a trailer across only - and prepared to make some contribution to the cost - get in touch. Must not be longer than 6m or taller than 2m - usual restriction.
