Can anyone help, I am looking at re-roping my buzz this winter. I remember sometime ago seeing a tuning guide for different wind strengths, it was a kind of sail by numbers guide (I cant find it anywhere on the site).
The main reason for re-roping the boat is that we seem to struggle with the single kite launch system and I want to see if it is rigged properly, it always seems to jam while pulling down.
The other problem i have is that I cant get the boat to point very high and keep losing a lot of ground on the other boats at the club. I have looked at the shrouds to lean the mast forward but I cant adjust them, they are only just long enough to reach the top hole.
As there are no other Buzzes near us it is hard to check to see if ours is rigged wrong, I notice that Bala are advertising a Buzz open this year so maybe I will get to see another Buzz on the water.
Any help with the rigging would be very welcome (I would like to try and keep up with the Scorpions at our club)

Hi.

With regards to sailing up wind against Scorpians, you will never point as high as a Scorpian and if you try to do so you'll definately be slower.
The Buzz isn't known for being able to point really high, which is a similar feature with many modern(ish) boats, the main thing is to keep your speed up and the boat flat, constantly adjusting the main should keep the boat flat and you should keep steering to keep the jib full when fully sheeted, ie, keep the telltales flying, the windward one just lifting. If you sail on tidal water you can point a little higher if going with the tide, but don't overdo it.
I hope that helps!!

With regards to rigging, i have a guide i can email you with photos of one of my previous Buzzes. Email - bailey.stu@btinternet.com
