Does any one know the size/model/make of the wheel bearings for a West Mercia 275 road base? We are driving it down to Italy for the Eurocup and think it would be well worth putting some new bearings in before we go.

Ian This is a tricky one. I've had 3 of these trailers and they have had 2 different types of bearings dependant on which hub/suspension unit was fitted in the factory. One type takes the mini rear wheel bearing, easily available in the UK and cheap; Towsure (mail order - Sheffield) do them. The other one I think is more common on the continent; I had to replace these once; required removing the bearing to read the part no. stamped on the face of the bearing and then source from a specialist bearing supplier - West Mersea Trailers were in a state of flux at that time but might be able to help now.
Send me a pic of the bearing dust cover and I can probably advise more.
Regards Mike
p.s. I am trying to make it to a meeting but so far they have all clashed with other events. |

West Mersea supplied direct to me about 2 years ago.
There are two types - small outer bearing and large outer bearing - the inner being the same for both.
WM managed to identify the right ones without any problem. Around £18 the pair if I recall. You'll need a bearing puller to remove the inner bearing ( or mine is rusted solid which is why I haven't changed them yet !! )
