The colour of my buzz is fading and was wondering what sort of paint it is that is needed. It is currently blue but am thinking of a different colour so i can be easily identified, at the front of the fleet, cough cough, thanks Jp |

The colours are impregnated into the gel coat during manufacture.
I only know of one boat that had a respray to dark green. It WILL add weight to the boat. No further details as to how to do it I'm afraid.

Hi,
There is another Buzz that has been painted dark blue at Datchet and looks like a resonable job, but i don't know what paint/technique they used. I have painted fibreglass boats in the past and would recommend International 2 part paint, but it's quite expensive and the best way to apply is by spray gun. The problem is, as Pete suggest's, that it will add weight and is prone to scratches. I'm not sure why you wish to repaint the boat but if the gelcoat has faded it can normally be restored fairly well with T-cut and polish, and a bit of hard work!!

Thanks for the help, i think a trip down to wet and windy might be in order to find the right stuff for the job |

T-Cut is a CAR polish and works great. I use the original one (In the red container) not the metalic one - probably for obvious reasons.
Wash the boat and dry it. Buff the T-Cut on. When dryish, buff with a different cloth, off.
For the Non slip part of the interior, I just use some washing up liquid in a bowl of water and scrub it on with a nail brush. Gets all the grime out nicely. DON'T use t-cut for these areas as it is a b1tch to get off (I know, I did it!)

I thought the red one was metalic, the yellow one, 'safe cut', is non metalic. That is what I use, although it is not as abrasive as the red one.
I think it is also important to put some sort of UV protection after t-cutting it. With out it the colours will fade and white will turn yellow.

You could try Farecla G3 cutting compound. Get from a chandlers or more professional car body material suppliers, it has much more cutting power than T-Cut.
