Hello all,

Bought a new Jib from Wet and Windy on Friday. Used it on Sunday for the first time, got out onto the water, powered up the jib and Bang. The copper Ferrel at the top of the jib split in half and the luff wire parted. Wet and Windy are sending a replacement Jib and have been very cooperative in sorting out the problem, but I suggest that all those who have bought new jibs recently might want to check the copper compression ferrel at the top and bottom of the luff wire for any signs of movement or cracking.

See you all in Sheppey,

Julian

Thanks for letting us know. Quite apart from the need to check them - we need this info to be able to take up issues of quality control with Topper and in turn Sobstad - or any of the other suppliers as appropriate.

Please keep the info coming to the Message Board and also Ian Moss - Technical Committee Chairman 2005 /06.

Thanks all

Bob
