I do appreciate its a bargain and can't wait to start sailing it (plan to pick it up Saturday week), I feel quite humbled to be part of the crew...... but enough of that!

I'm damn sure I'll be posting soon with please for help as the closest I've been to one of these - is as one screamed past me on Bala & this is my first twin trapeze boat.

I predict a lot of swimming.

So if someone's got a training event - I'll see if the kids and I can make it. We're West Midlands based.

See you soon John

Welcome to the clan Johnny ISO, I got my Boss last season and am still learning. Mind you I haven't had as much opportunity to get out as I should have liked and I have tried to avoid falling in to much as my hull still lets in some water on a capsize.
So I up for some training if Pork Pie Eater can talk his man on the stick into it; and lets hope for less than the 25+knots of breeze there was in Feb. Mind you it did let them make the high speed video on the Boss website; also got them onto the Y&Y speed freaks table.

How about it guys - sometime in the autumn?

We would love to get some training too. So count Tel Boy & Biggus in too if it can be arranged (work permitting... groan).

We will be at the Inland Nationals - the time is already booked off for the event... Our first ever race, in anything for anything... oh my God! Be gentle with us please. Now, where is that rule book?

I was just going to suggest that perhaps we could do a bit of boat-tweaking/training at the Inlands. Maybe we could work on that - Nick, could we arrange a rib? It would be great if we can have a get together then, and see some new faces. Don't worry about the rules - the important one is Rule No.1 - if you see a red boat coming downwind out of control (usually is), then keep clear regardless of what point of sailing you are on

Have to admit to being a bit of a fair weather sailer - so where/when are the Inlands? A what is this "red boat" comment - cropped up a couple of times now I think.

The Inlands are at King George SC this year (Norf London innit) on 14th/15th October. Normally the last event of the year, so worth the effort to get there.
The 'red boat' is Red Oktober 796 and the event referred to is a crash and burn at Datchet two (?) years ago when, on a reservoir of some several square miles, the only two Bosses managed to collide at speed, wiping out a mast. It has passed into legend. Says something for the solidity of Bosses I think

We think about coming over for the inlands. Would be great if that could be combined with some coaching as well.

If you guys ( and anyone else ) want to come along to KGSC the previous weekend for a practice session and leave your boats I think we can accomodate you.

Let me know how many and when with as much advance warning as possible and I'll have a word with the Rear Commodore.

Cheers

Bob

I think wev gotta change our boat name to the red baron or something, especially with the comments wer gettin lol Red oktober is the red boat in the boss video alongside the burple coloured bathtub shared by 2 fat men, their weight issues was the problem that meant they couyld not react fast enough to evoid collision hahahaha
r the inlands 14 et 15th of octobre? and when do people want to be introduced to a hardcore training regime that will bring up calises on there hands?

I've got a couple of jibs for unconverted rig. I'll try to have a look at their condition tonight.

Thanks for the reply on the Jib. Please let me know. The ones I have are both slightly delaminating - The better one has a taped repair! Both are serviceable - but I'd like something better for my new toy.

errr....Tuning? I've only just learned how to get the sails up!Sailed it for the first time on Sunday. Good job only light winds.

If it goes like that with little wind - I cant wait for bit more.

Rgds

John
