Just a note to start a discussion topic on who will be coming to the Broadstairs Gala Open on May 12th and 13th.
We have a totally refurbished and new layout bar and lounge and will be offering an informal curry on Sat evening. The Race Notice has been sent to Pete for this website, alternatively contact me and I will email it. |

If it's windy, Annie would rather sail the Buzz!? If that happens Ian, I'll be crewless also!
Oh, just remembered - Buzz not invited, so Annie will have to like it or sniffle, weep and quiver that top lip!!!

To everybody attending,
Please make sure you have paid the full membership fee for this year and not the stingy £20 that most people are still paying.
Not only are we bringing the scales, but we are also bringing the dept collecting equiptment as well........!!!!!

I have had some emails stating that the NOR is missing and that they need to know the start time. The first race on Sat is not before 12.00 and there are 3 races Sat and Sun ( hopefully).

Pete, the plan is to leave about 06:00 so should be there 09:00ish. Biggest delay is likely to be getting Matt out of bed!

Thanks Broadstairs for another cracking sailing - 12 hours kip last night and boy do I ache! 5 Races back to back, and over 3000kcals burnt.

out of interest, did the ISO's have the same start as the 4000's?
btw the new ISO looks absolutely fantastic, looks more up to date than the 4000's now!

ISO's & 4000's were all on the same start line for the 5 races. |

The combined start made it interesting although I think on the whole we were all pretty good and tried not to get in each others way. Pete did tell me off for not trying to push a 4K over the line though.
Shame we didn't get a combined result as Richard would have won easily with possibly 3 ISO's in the top 5. It was very noticable how similar in performance the two classes of boat are.
The new sails not only look good but they perform really well too. Richard has learned very quickly how to make them go fast. |
