I would like to put in a public thanks to Steve and Christophe for organising the absolutely superb week at La Rochelle. The venue is great, a very well organised club, very friendly and welcoming. Great job guys !!

May I also put in a personal thanks to everyone there for the buoyancy aid and rash vest. I very much appreciate the gesture. I'm very pleased to be able to continue as Chairman and hope we, the Committee, can continue to deliver the kind of Class that everyone wants.

It's teamwork - not just one person. We do need the continued active support from all members to continue to keep things moving forwards. Volunteer(s) to take on Publicity Officer remains an urgent need. Any offers ?

I also would like to thank everybody at SRR for managing a very good event, and everybody who was there to make it friendly and enjoyable ashore and extremely competitive as we sailed.

A big thanks to Stuart and Zoe and to Ian and Hannah for giving us 10 races of fair and close racing... honestly, there should have been three winners.

Hope to see you all again next year!

I think the best team won on the day Paolo, well done guys... however on a different day who knows

Id also like to add my thanks to everyone that was involved in the organisation. Its the first time I've been to one of these events and I would strongly recommend it to any one next year.

Great event, great venue and the full spectrum of conditions (on and off the water)

Thanks

Ian and Hannah

A big well done to Andy and Vicky for winning the Iso's .

I have noticed that on the photo's page on la Rochelle website there is a link to a photographer but the whole website is then French and far too complicated. Has anyone managed to navigate their way to the photo's taken on this site? The site is www.lyrics-pictures.fr
If anyone has any luck then the link or anything like that would be nice.

Thanks

Graham

Big well done to Andy and Vicky - well deserved. Who says married couples can't sail well together ....

Well impressed with 2nd to 5th places as well - one point between them ! What an ace bit of competition.

Photos - tried earlier. Looks like just the Ynglings up there at the moment. SRR said they would get ISO / Buzz up there "in a couple of days".

Hi

Yep - echo all the thanks as above - a top time was had by all.

Some of you may have seen Mark and I getting a little flustered in the car park on Friday evening/Saturday morning as I had locked our keys in the car. In England we had ummed and arghed whether to get AA cover but we decided against it. Anyway Mark was admirable calm and after trying both the local VW garage (using the free yellow bikes which were great if a little heavy - ours were locked up!) and trying to break into the car without luck we contemplated which window to break (suprisingly the garage told us one of the front ones would be cheapest). However the Captainiare came to the resuce and using the equivalent of their yellow Pages they found someone to help us so after a tow to a local garage and a rather hefty bill all was well so we comfortabley caught our ferry on Sunday night (glad we had booked for Sunday as we wouldn't have made the Saturday one).
Looking forward to seeing everone at the next event.
Jane and Mark

echo echo...
just returned from holyday (i needed one after the eurocup
The waves were a bit too much for me, but we learned a lot about sailing an ISO, trim of the ISO, halyardknots and unfortunately also about speeddifferences, markrounding and giving way (I am sorry Kate and Eamon!)

It was a great event, first time a race in an iso, first time on the sea
first time long stretches with gennaker up.... I hope not the last time but last time last

Good to see you guys there Hans - hope you make another event soon.

Take a look at - http://www.skiffzeilen.nl/ and http://www.skiffbenelux.com/ and http://www.letsail.be/ - we might be there soon too. The last two are the sites written by the BOSS guys we met in La Rochelle - Ben and Dom.

Photos - take another look at www.lyrics-pictures.fr - they had a few there a couple of days ago.

Hello, now we're registered!

Thanks to the SRR for a really great eurocup, also to Steve and all involved with the organisation. We had a great time and can't wait for the next event.

Hans - no problem, looking forward to racing again.......

Kate
