This weekend we spoilt our (already tired) mainsail in 6 Bf... We are looking for a good replacement main...
Iheared (but don't know for shure yet) that posting a main is expensive... We live in Holland and intent to go to the German open... We might meet there... (someone coming over??) Alternatively we might come to england (ferry) to pick up the main there... Good quality, fair offers...
Thanks... Hans ISO 788 |

I have a spare which I don't really want to sell, but if you need to borrow for the Germany event then let me know and it will be there. It's an original pink stripe sail but works fine. |

Hi Richard
Thanks for your offer, We also have a very old pink stripe main (patched, very full cut) so in time of cholera we are still able to sail. We are looking for an alternative that will last... Hyde sails might be lighter to sail (for us an advantage) but not on the second hand market. So might be looking for secondhand recent sobstad.... We keep it in mind for the german open...

Hi all,
We're also on the lookout for a decent secondhand Sobstad main, as we only have the original pink stripe one which is pretty tired, in case there are a few out there up for sale...? Otherwise we may bite the bullet and buy a new Hyde one...
We're based at Queen Mary, but happy to travel anywhere in the south to pick up.
Cheers,

Hi Hans, plenty of good second hand mains here, if you can wait untill Eurocup (by the way, I didn't see your name yet on the list of boats registered for Eurocup... we can not miss the dutch in this event !!!) Unfortunately I'll not be able to come this year to the German Open, I hope I'll be able to go next year.

Hi There, We sailed in Trier.. lot of fun and besides of the very shiny weather, very nice sailing too!!. Sailing in the river "Mosel" gave an excelent up and down race track. Three ISO's on the water in a mixed dighy fleet (Laser 3000, lasers, 470 and several german class dinghies). Being second after the first day, some extra wind on day 2 made us the hunted... We were able to go fast deep (We rolled the jib) and with a very loose gennaker up speed. So I think since La rochelle 2 years ago we might have learned som sailing with the ISO.. The Pink Main we sailed with, is very full and has a bad profile (curved very much aft)... So we were lucky not being caught in a 4+ Bf wind.
Marco, We tried to bij a new main from Sobstad (they we advertised very cheap) but they do not actually seem to deliver... Everyone in Italy is of course switching to Hyde (and the look very nice!!) Our budget is prohibiting new sails at the moment. Lago maggiore doesn't fit in our Holiday schedule (which is a pity)... Do you have a recent/ decent race worthy main for sale in Italy?? I am very interested... h dot smorenburg at home dot nl
