After all that, why did only 3 Bosses turn up at Datchet? OK, it was a windy forecast, but it was a beautiful sunny day yesterday, with a stiff breeze and some wicked gusts.
Once again, 762 notched up another victory in the first race, helped by some late faffing about by the others on the beach, it all got a bit hairy after that, so most retired to lick their wounds
Needless to say, we still need to meet up to discuss the class organisation? Where next?
Another plug for the assymmetric open at Shoreham on 14th July......

Well Olly and Awain turned up on the Saturday and the chap in the dinghy store said it was going to be even stronger the next day and they were not leting anyone else on the lake, Charlie and i had some major car issues (over heating) and decided with the wind the way it was that we should call it an early day! sorry to let everyone down to be honest we wouldnt of fancied breaking another boat as second hand parts are now thin on the ground

It wasn't faffing, it was maticulously tuning of the rig for a full days sail as well as repairing a helm shaped hole in the mainsail from the day b4! While every1 else went home with their tales between their legs we stayed out with the photographer! Cant wait 4 those pics! Wind speed hit 42 Knots while we were out! Resulted in an extreme pitchpole when we tried to drop the kite!
Well done to 762, wish we had made it to the start line in time to give them a race.
Awesome days sail.... bring on more days like that!!!!

Sorry we weren't there but to be honest it looked a bit to windy to race judging by your jib and the fact that even ben and john didn't do the second race! As Russ said there is also a distinct lack of spares for these boats, ok if your experienced in the boat, not great if your still getting to grips with it.

Pity really as it would have been great to all meet up and race. But as you say when is the next chance?? pity about chew.

Maybe we should all post a list of handicap events we're planning on doing and make an effort to all attend certain events? For us it will most probably be:

* Bala this week end
* Weston skiff open, early june (is this also the 5k national??)
* Lord Birkett (ullswater) first weekend in july
* Abersoch Dinghy week, end of july
* Ullswater Regatta, mid Aug
* Boss nationals, Herne bay Aug bank holiday???

there will be others but they all currently escape me right now
