Just thought i'd start a fresh topic so that we don't get sidetracked by the lovely buzz sailors discussing which wine to have with their meal on the saturday evening.

1185 will be there. Hopefully we can get a good turnout?

Graham

Graham,

The wine discussion, which i certainly feel is important, is also aimed at the Iso class as well if anyone is interested, but if you are interested please say so on the other thread rather than this one!!

A nice bottle of red will be fine for us thanks Stu. Two seats at the table required also.

Oops - that was for the other thread. I'm not coming to the event but I'll come up for the meal!

Yeah right!!!

1013 will be there to put right the wrongs of the nationals result!

Best take the right crew with you then Pete?

I certainly plan to be there. Haven't got a crew yet though. Wonder when Tim will be back? all is forgiven, wherever you are?

Boats I know of who should put some effort in for this event are:

1 Bewl boat - 1195
2 Datchet Boats - 949, 641
2 Calshot Boats - 511, 1002
1 King George - 1205
3 Emsworth Slipper - 815, 553, 1137
2 Essex YC - 1184, 1178
1 Thorney Island - 623
1 Bartley Green - 1024
1 Langstone - 1190

That's 19 total so far I can think of. How about a letter / email to our publicity officer Jim:

Dear Jim,
please can you fix it for us to get boats to attend Bewl. We know it isn't too much to go to the google map:
http://www.isoracing.org.uk/db/sailingdb/index.php?_m=_default&_a=goo
gle&rgn_id=6

and email all the ISO's and Buzz's around the bewl water area, to give them a kick up the proverbial!
It would be great if you could also email yourself to see if you are going to attend or not.

Thanks again Mr Fix it.

949 sends his regrets as his helm is still having shoulder problems - should be cleared up in a year's time!

Apologies from Neil and Ben (603)....we have been out of the loop ever since Felixstowe mainly due to Bens sailing committments and the weekend of the inlands when we were hoping to come and play I now have to work....we are gearing up for next season and hope to get along to as many events as possible (we are still enjoying the boat !). Hope the inalnds go well

Sorry, I was planning on being there but now I am going to be in Rome for the weekend.
Colin
(As Dave says, 1190 is moving to Calshot. I seem to be gradually migrating West.)

Is there anyone out there who would normaly be coming to the inlands who can't make it? Charles Devonport of Hyde sails would like to borrow a boat. I gather the W&W boat is already going? Any ideas?

Hi Llyod

How about one of the second hand boats that Wet and Windy have on their web site.

I don't want to be to negative but i was expecting a bit more of an advertising push from wet and windy what with the new boat and all. I would have thought that borrowing a second hand boat is a good start to promotion.

See you all at Bewl

Rob

Hi Rob
I agree with you. It would be good for the class if someone from Hydes came along as they may be inclined to help with PR as it is in their interest as well as W&W. I have e-mailed W&W to this affect. What worries me is scince this thread started there are more responses saying people are not coming than people saying they are!!!

We are hoping to make the long trip down from Lancashire, asuuming the pass gets signed etc. Is there still camping available and would be happy with the club or elsewhere for food if thats the general consensus as long as its stumbling distance.

Hi Rob
I spoke to W&W about the ISOs on their web site and they said they don't have any second hand ISOs??? Seems their site is a bit out of date.

Hi Lloyd

That’s interesting I wonder who they sold them to. And if they are going to do much racing.

Just a thought but maybe they could have a refurbished boat with new sails at the boat show if it was at a really good price they might drum up a bit more interest in the class after all value for money is one of our strong points.

On another note i think you should stop looking for a B&B and just have an evening on the broadside and a night in the car.

See you soon.

Rob

P.S. have you seen tacticat lately its got a bit advanced.

And there was me thinking the ISO website was easy to navigate!

Use the nav bar - if you have Javascript enabled - if not let me know and I'll have to create an alternative navbar for non Javaswcript users.

They've still got our old pink logo so I'll try to rectify that before next time...

Some of us have jobs which don't allow us to sit in front of a PC or sharpen pencils. I dont think 4 days is a long wait for a report.
