Hi All
Roadford Lake R&SC are holding a regatta over the Whit Bank Holiday weekend (26/27/28 May)and extend an invitation to all Buzzes to join them. Ideal opportunity to chat, tune and pick up tips whatever your level!

Racing on Saturday, Sunday and Monday - 7 races in total, 5 to count. If we have enough Buzzes we'll get our own start (5 already based at the lake). Racing likely to be around the buoys although a windward/leeward triangle may be possible(as for Goodacre Cup for those that went).

Camping on the lakeside with hook-up if needed. Excellent communal BBQ facilities available both nights (or local pubs for the less hardy). £40 gets you racing for 3 days and camping for 2 nights.

Beautiful location on the edge of Dartmoor - 10 minutes off the A30 at Broadwoodwidger (just past Okehampton). Tescos 20 mins away at Launceston for supplies or local shop for newspapers and basics.

If we could get some idea of interest that would help with the planning (just post replies here).

If you want to book a caravan/camping plot, please book direct with Roadford on 01409 211507 saying that you are racing with the Buzz fleet.

More info at www.roadfordlakesailingclub.org.uk

Hope to see you there!

Buzz 859 needs a helm for this event!!! The usual helm is otherwise engaged....

So, one crew and one Buzz available for racing!!!

Crew is 5'11'', 10.5 stone and doesn't answer back (most of the time)!!!

Lets go Buzzing

Hi,

I think i will be needing a crew or helm for the event if anybody is desperate enough to sail with me!! I also have a Buzz to sail that I can take down there if needed... You can contact me through buzz@wet-windy.co.uk.

Cheers

Matt (not Andy!)

Well another lively week-end at Roadford has left many of us helms and crews of 8 Buzzes aching and tired but exhilarated at going so fast on the downwind legs - Stuart clocked 19 on his Garmin - a record for the Buzz??

Thanks to all involved, including race team, SW Water Trust (even if the name is wrong they know who they are), barbeque lighters and beer buyers, Roadford Sailing Club, all the sailors (both club and Buzzes) and particularly Penny and Roger for being so enthusiastic about getting Buzzes back to Roadford - we had a blast.
