I intend to put a small amount of advertising on my mainsail and boom, do all of our open meetings, Nationals, etc. allow this and what parts of the sail can be used? I know that i cannot use the logo/ sail no. areas for obvious reasons, but other than that.
Thanks, Stuart. |

Sailing nowadays is done under Category C.
http://www.sailing.org/rrs2001/rrsappendicesectionII.pdf
In summary, you can advertise where you like on your boat. Exceptions are:
Front 25% of the hull - reserved for event sponsors. Not allowed to cover your class logo and sail numbers Not allowed to cover manufacturers logos - hull (White Formula), Spars (Super Spars)
That is about it really.
I will advise you not to stick things on your jib - they come off. Also if you are over the line at the start, you are easy spotted!
