Hi,
I have just found this while looking around the iso website:
http://www.isoracing.org.uk/iso_guides/isotweaks/spintakeup.htm
my crew was complaining of too much rope while the kite wasnt up, would it be possible/legal to rig up a system like this on the buzz? Does anyone already use this system? Can anyone this of any potential problems? Seems like a good idea to me!

hi rich,
I and some others use this system, and as long as your spinnaker sheets are long enough it works very well.
Ive rigged mine slightly differently to ISO, and attached the forward ring for the elastic to the top spinnaker bag retainer. This helps prevent the sheets getting caught under the pole.
I can email you photos if you like.

Hi,
Thanks for the replies! Photos would be excellent thanks, if you could email them to buzz755 at googlemail dot com that would be great.
Bob, I saw what I think you are talking about, and I think our boat has already been fitted with this. The elastic that goes around the rear toestrap attachment with a block that the halyard passes through? Another excellent idea !
I think I will be giving this a go! |

That's one option some people use - works for them. We take the sheet up front - works for us. Can't speak for Buzz Class rules but give it a try club racing and see what everyone else says about legality. |

Buzz class rules - you can add any size, length and type of elastic you like. You can also add any size, length and type bits of rope you like, metal or plastic rings.
You are not allowed to add turning blocks (or at least that was what I read last time I read them). But you don't want / need turning blocks for any take up systems.
