Time to drum up some enthusiasm! A certain ex ISO sailer wrote on another web site that the 4Ks had the best boats and the best helms. Are we going to take this or are we going to go to Broadstairs and show them who has the best helms and boats? So a plea to all our friends out there Linden, Mike, Richard, Kate, Eammon, Matt, another Mike, David, Bruce and a load more, where have you been so far and lets all get together at Broadstairs for some great sailing and catch up with each other. Richard you are needeed for the drinking a pint while lying between two chairs competition if nothing else. Lloyd. ps if you don't have a crew or helm start a thread now.

LLoyd

You are so right. We have an amazing looking boat and we seem to regularly do well against 4000's. But more importantly you are right about the people we have a great time when we all get together and we could drink most classes if not all under the table and still go racing the next day. Don't let the fleet faid away. We should be on the brink of something great with the boat looking like it is and the Italian fleet growing. Lets go for a good turn out at Broadstairs.

See you all there

Rob and Barry 1022

1013 will be there for both days this time! I am crewless at the moment, but I have yet to ring round my spare crew list.

Good to see that you still talk about me if not to me then Lloyd. Presuming that i am the 'ex iso sailor' you refer to then yes i do believe that the standard of sailing in the 4000 fleet is of a higher standard than that of the iso fleet - as you yourself have said many times in the past.

Sad to admit i won't be sailing an iso this year. I wish the fleet all the best in it's success in the future.... It looks like Italy will be a brilliant success and it is a shame to be missing out on it. Perhaps i will be seeing you all at the nationals in the near future to retain my trophy.

Graham

P.S Lloyd, you were telling everyone only a few weeks ago how you intend to sell your boat!!

Do we go for another mass start like Datchet, or shall we give ourselves a 5 minute penalty and start after them?

I may have been misunderstood. I am trying to get some people to go to Broadstairs not start a debate about 4ks vs ISO. Judging by the response so far not many of us are rising to the challenge.

Come on and tell us if you are going or if you can't go why not!!

Completely agree Lloyd, anyone who thinks the ISO is a better boat and/or sailed by better sailors is probably on the wrong forum. They are different boats that each have their own merits.

As for broadstairs it doesn't look like I will make it. No really good excuse other than no crew, my boat is at the club and I am commuting to London daily at the moment so logitically it is just not possible to make it. Shame as I have always enjoyed opens at broadstairs.

Really is that it! 4 Boats, thats taking into account ben and sue are racing! Where is everybody?
Our enthusiasm to drive all the way to broadstairs on a friday night around the M25, just to race with 4 other boats is slowly disappearing.

Jonny is coming with Tom if that helps Rob. It's funny we haven't heard anything from Emsworth. Do you think they have stopped looking at the message board?

Really sorry guys that I won't be sailing at Broadstairs - yes I know right on my doorstep!! My wife produced my next ISO crew last week an I more than need the brownie points as I'm going back to work tomorrow and then traveling to Belgium on Friday

I could come for a few beers on the Saturday to wet the baby's head though... just make sure they lock the vodka away..

Apologies for absence.

Due to a series of lame excuses - and the dreaded "W" word - 814 won't be making it to the Broadstairs start line this weekend.

Have a good 'un

Bob

Congrats to Team Speller

Well those of you who didn't come missed a good weekend. The weather was great (bit light Saturday) and the racing was really close. The Usuall hospitality we have come to expect from Broadstairs. And one new face (to me anyway). Well done Chris hope we see you more often.
I don't think we did too well at the bar games but it was fun trying!
