During the Bossche5 a nice sailing event with over 100 boats (about 50% dinghy) wil sail ragatta first weekend of october...
With the noumbers ISO's rising in Holland and after the very nice sailing event in Trier (Thanks Nick) We will try and get some ISO's and Buzzes ond the water. When we have enough ISO's an own start will be arranged... That will be good marketing voor ISO in de benelux and Germany...
We intend to make a yearly combined ISo championship in Holland, germany (and belgium??) Held either in Trier (the perfect up and down sailing Lane:) ) or here in Holland (this year Den Bosch...)

Excellent news Hans !!!

Well done for getting this moving - hope it gets the support you are looking for.

Marco has about 28 boats in the Italian fleet. Can you beat that ??

Cheers

Bob

828 is reviewing plans for the future and will come to play if fit. After my last trip out, I find myself wondering whether to buy a boat with cushions and a fridge, but meanwhile will try to be ready for this event.

At the moment we have the fastest growing fleet... 25% in one weekend...an extra 20% is in the pipeline when Henk comes over to England to pick up an ISO as well...
But a fleet of 28 (active!) iso's is hard to beat..
We picked our up at Leigh on sea.. 5 iso's in a row! In holland we have never seen so many iso's at a time... So that's what the Dutch ISO Regatta is for...

And for the pro's: We have good beer as well!!

Cheers..

We haven't seen much as well since a couple of years ago... believing you can and a minimum of planning is the way to do it....

You're also close to UK, and this can help much with logistics and transportation...

my best wishes for your growing fleet, Hans.

Marco

Hi All,
This weekend we had a brilliant skiff regatta in Holland: the dutch open...
With a fleet of over 50 skiffs it was a very nice event, well organized with a regatta organization well fitted for the job. 49ers and RS 800 had there own start just as the 29ers and RS feva's had.
We with 2 iso's on the water (welcome Nick !!, and diederik had to resign because of illness) we were present on the water...
Two years ago we were not able to finish te race (6 Bf was def. too much..)This year on saturday with 3-4 Bf enough for serious racing.. 4 matches. We turned out to be on the fourth place and nick did well with a ranking on position 9 (in a field of 16 boats)
Sunday very light winds but enough for 3 short races.. We could maintain position (lefrt musto skiffs in some races even behind..
The single handed skiffs (musto and Blaze) are difficult to beat on handicap in light winds ...
So Laser 4000 far back in the fleet and we in the front row... Good for the ISO airplay.. people came and asked for the boat...
We must admit that with the Hyde sails (and the tips of Richard, thank you... barberhaulers off, swatcher on, main flat) we were able to go fast and high up wind... downwind we lost some time beacause we were not used to sail on openwater and use the apparent wind mode.. Went too deep).. We will change that next time.. and intend to get an even higher ranking.... (without saying... we are hoping to cope with you guys in the eurocup (may be not all, but at least some of you...) See you around... (may be in the dutch open ISO next year??)
