Just bought Buzz 971 to sail with my 12 year old daughter, we're looking for a trapeze boat that's a step up from a Laser 2000.
I've found the settings for rake and rig tension, but can't find anything on speader length or speader deflection. We are a rather heavy crew for a Buzz.
Can any one help.

Hi
Sorry - can't help with the spreaders (I think most peole just leave them how they come, that's certainly what we have done!) but I notice you are just down the road (we sail at Langstone) so I thought I would say 'hello' and also bring to your attention a Buzz open event Langstone is hosting on 15th/16th September - I know it is a long way off but it would be great if you could make it. We'll probably also be doing at least 3 days of Fed Week - do you plan to be there??
If there is anything we can help with do get in touch.

I finally found time to measure my spreaders. Length from shroud to mast side is 41.5 cm. When the mast is resting, distance between a line joining the spreaders ends and the aft face of the mast is 16 cm.

We too are quite heavy for a buzz!

Roger,

They should be fixed at the inner ends (not adjustable). At the outer ends (length) they should be in as far as possible as I recall.
