Hi,
I have some gelcoat bubbles and cracks on my gunwale and few on the hull (smaller). What could be the reason ? Do I just sand down the gelcoat until the fibre and apply a new coat of gelcoat ?
Here are the pictures : http://hpics.li/a0b6817 http://hpics.li/6e0ef62
Thank you. (ps. not english so easy answer to understand please)

Hi,
The deck gel coat should be vela grey in colour. The hull is white.
It's difficult to know the best way of repairing without seeing it. Is it still hard if you press with your finger tip? If small areas I would use a screw driver to dig out a small area/ line and then fill with gelcoat.
Try that and see if it works.

Thank you for the reply. It was still hard under pressure on the bubbles. For the cracks I removed the gelcoat with cutter (and open one bubble, it was safe and not moist) and applied a new layer of gelcoat(unfortunatly white one, I hadn't the color information at this moment).
Thank you again. |
