Trying to set up a mast but the amount of bend appears to be excessive which makes it difficult/impossible to keep the mainsail leach tight. The spreaders are set as far back (towards the stern of the boat) as they will go and the spreader ends are in as far as they were go. There is a significant amount of pre-bend in the mast when the recommended rig tension is applied. Putting the mailsail up increased the mast bend even more. Can anybody suggest what might be wrong with the setup here please ?

Hi Kerry,
I checked the positions of my speaders last night and they are set as follows;
Spreader length - 1 clear hole showing Angle - front hole of the 4 on the inner adjustment, front hole of the 2 on the outer adjustment.
If you are getting lots of bend i would suggest that if there is a wrong setting it will be on the 2 hole adjustment and needs to be in the front hole to deduce rake. If your speaders are exactly as mine already then we'll have to think of something else!!
Where do you sail?
