Dear ISO community,
a short announcement for scheduling your racig activities in 2009.
In May 21st - 24th 2009 we again present the Ascension Day Racing Weekend at Treves. Under the motto 1 weekend, 2 races, 3 days of racing, 4 days of fun we invite you to participate a very special event.

21st of May: Porta Nigra Sailing Marathon, a long distance race, start not before 13:00
22nd of May: Training and social events, vine testing in an old cellar
23rd of May: Iso German Open, first day, first start not before 13:00
24rd of May: Iso German Open, second day, price giving about 14:30

There is enough time for arrival and departure. I hope we will get a competitive field of ISOs. For the BUZZes we have the Treveris Cup 23rd-24th, a handicap race. With enough buzzes we can realize an own class. NOR will be puplished as soon as available.

Treves is the cradle of our culture. Constantinus was the king of the northern roman empire resindent of Treves, when he decided to become cesar of the complete Roman empire. With his troops he went southern to Rome. In the night before the battle at the Mivian Bridge he had a dream. He heard a voice: In hoc signo vinces, in this sign you will conquer. And he saw the sign chi-rho i.e. XP, well known long before Bill Gates. He told his soldiers to paint this sign with blood on their bucklers. He won the battle against the troops of Maxentius and allowed the christs to practice their religion afterwards.

Cheers, merry Christmas and a happy new year to everybody. Special thanks to the board of the class, Marco and Paolo and everybody who keeps the class activities alife.
Nik ISO 719

828 will support this event subject to confirmation, last year was painful but fun, 7 months later my coccyx is still occasionally making its presence felt. Everything was extremely efficiently organised and I recommend this weekend to any ISO/Buzz of all competence levels.
Christmas greetings and happy new year to all from Germany.
Richard

please inform us, if anybody needs a babysitter.
We will have a fantastic Friday, 22.05.09, especially for children. Are there children which want to have their own races?
Cheers Nik

We just got back from ISO German Open weekend in Trier. The only down side that we saw was the lack of wind, not enough on Saturday and none on Sunday. Therefore the whole show was decided on Saturday’s 3 races. 4 Iso’s came to the line (2 from Holland and 2 from Germany) plus a Buzz from Belgium. Team Holland showed everyone the way home. A full report will follow.
As last year, everything was well organised with the participants in mind, both on and off the river. Nik’s energy and resourcefulness as the main driving force is to be commended.
I hope that more of you are tempted by the lure of the Baltic in the first week in August. Regardless of how many people sign up, it will be our summer holiday so we are going anyway, and will enjoy either racing or social sailing as well as off the water activities with whoever else is there.
Richard and Ute 828
