Not long now until the Open at Calshot.
Who would like to come and enjoy our great event, all those who came last year, leave your boats at home and come and have fun, those who can handle more excitement then come and race with us.
We are looking at 3 races a day, first race at 13.00
I can sort out a ski session or some thing like that if you would like it for Sat after we finish sailing, or for Sun am. There would be a small cost for this, but well worth it. Or as last year, instead of sailing if the weather does it's normal thing, it must be time we had 2 days sailing !!!
BBQ at the club on Sat. Can you please bring your own food and drinks.
The nearest bar is OK, but shuts early on Sat (21.00 hrs) 2 Others are about 15 min walk.

We can offer camping out side the club, B&B at the Centre or B&B near by.
Please contact me if you would like to camp, we need to book it at least 10 days before hand.
Does any one want to come on Friday night?
Hope to see you all soon.
Dave

I must say, Calshot last year was the best cancelled sailing event I reckon I've ever been to! Blowing old boots + a bit more, so skiing, five a side footy, beer, food, was fantastic!

Fingers crossed for bad, sorry, good weather this year.

We can do it all again this year. The forecast looks promising, less wind than last year, if a little wet.
Bob may be able to find a light crew for you, I will see what i can do.
Any idear of who is coming this year? I have not had any requests for camping yet.

Well would you believe it, Calshot did it again.
We managed to get in two races on Saturday, in the rain and gloomy weather.
Sunday was bright and sunny but with 25 + knots.
So we packed up and went home.
Well done to Mike and Josh, who finished the second race with out falling over in, well 2nd place in both races.
Pete next time you are free could you run through some of the more basic rigging of boats.
I think that spinny sheet are meant to be out side the shrouds, Josh and that the spinny halyard has to go through the the double block on the pole, Lyndon.
Only small things but they do make the boat faster even in 20 knots.
See you all at the Nationals.

First time i have seen a mass rush to find mast head floats as we went to launch on sunday then dave went out and immediately returned so we decided maybe not.

Shame just a little less wind and we could of been flying (spinni sheets outside boat now)

Bring on Germany, lets hope for some good wind.

Came back into the Solent on Sunday afternoon in 30+ knots of breeze. A few windsurfers and kite surfers out but not alot else so not surprised you didn't go out on Sunday.

Do you ever get a weekends sailing in at Calshot Dave?
