Found another Spice on my travels. Not sure of the number but it is located at Hythe & Saltwood Sailing Club at Hythe - on the south coast of Kent. The club is a pretty small none sailing sailing club - Londoners who pop down once in a blue moon to have a potter about on the sea.

Club number - 01303 3265178
It does have a website - http://www.hssc.net/

Spice 322 is sailed by Ian & Ann Wright,I think. Father Goeff Wright had an e-mail exchange with me when he was trying to sort out the boat, and I passed on Andy's contact details in the hope they would meet @ Alton, but Goeff also said they were trying 322 out on the sea before the winter set in so could explain the facts? I only have cntact details for Goeff tho' - perhaps Andy knows them now?

Ian.

I think you are right or is that wright ! Haven't seen Andy around recently.

The sea would be a challenge I'd have thought, looked like they would be training candidates to me after watching them on Sunday. Good to have another Topper asymmetric at AWSC though.

What's happening with events and you guys next year ?

What hoops or hurdles would we have to get through to have an event at Grafham ? I/we have been trying to get the Buzz Nats in the Summer hols to see if this has a positive impact on numbers. I think May it too early for many Buzz sailors ?

chris re Grafham events - they need booking now for 2006 season and a guarenteed (or more or less)certain 50 boat turnout. So I think that would mean organising all the Iso's plus Buzzes, Spices, Bosses and Blazes to agree now to go for it. However the number of Open slots is limited and there would be no certainty about getting it. On the other hand Summer hols time at the club is not a time when Opens are held at the club - in a year like this one lack of wind was not a problem but could be a risk normally.

re Spices for sale the RO at Isle of Sheppy was after one - anyone know if he's still interested?

We are in contact with 322, they have just joined the association. 365 is in fact for sale on our web site, earlier this year the boat was based in the Midlands. There is still about 45 boats still out there un accounted for.

No I'm not after one yet, still haven't fully got to grips with the Buzz !!

Is it worth pursing a 2006 event at Grafham ?

The Spice at HSSC (323) is mine. Not sure what a none sailing sailing club is, but if you meant non-sailing we do potter regularly, although perhaps not in great numbers and majority of us who do sail have moved to Dover for the winter. As far as I know there aren't any members from London either, not sure how you got that impression? Duncan

Chris H Buzz1040 if you haven't got to grips with the buzz yet then its about time you traded it in and got your self a spice.
Duncan (323) good to hear from you, i hope no offense was taken from Pete's comment. , we are a friendly bunch trying to encourage more spices along to the open events.

I was informed that the club was a quiet club and hardly sailed. This was observed as it was a Sunday afternoon and a van was parked by the club and some maintenance work was being undertaken by one or two people. Not one boat was out on the water. A walk past on the Saturday also highlighted no boats out on the old aqua also.

The club is small, well the boat park is. Anyway, the main point was to inform the Spicers that there was one located down at HSSC and maybe to try and get in touch.

In a high perfomance boat, one does not partake in the act of pottering. The exercise is refered to as blasting round the pond.

Happy blasting. Nice to see another active Spice.

Pete
