Just a reminder that this event is going ahead and I've booked nice steady wind and sun-shine for the week-end so we look forward to seeing you here on the south coast. Langstone is the club at the top of Chichester/Langstone Harbours, next to the bridge to Hayling Island.

Format will be much the same as last year with races back to back followed by sarnies and cake (included in price), possibly bacon butties before racing and on Sat night we'll book a table at the local pub for food.

Full details are hopefully being finalised tonight and will be posted here (and probably class web-sites) asap.

It helps the house committee (sarnie makers) if they have some idea of nuumbers so an expression of interest would be useful - just post below.....

Jane

Hope to get a few ISOs down from Emsworth Slipper SC for the Langstone SC assymetric open on 23,24 Sep. I know of at least 3 that are going, and hope there will be more.

The event in Sept is definately the only event at Langstone this year - last year's was Oct so possibly that is where the confusion arises. There will be starts for ISO, Buzz and then club asymmetrics (3 starts in total). Possibly Spices too if any want to join in (start likely to be with ISOs or possibly Buzzes).
A few details below; NOR should be appearing on web-sites soon as I have sent relavant info to the web-masters for ISO and Buzz sites.

23rd & Sunday 24th September 2006
Briefing 11.00am, 12.00 1st Warning signal (both days)
HW Sat 13.00, HW Sun 13.28
To be sailed in Langstone Harbour
3 Races back-to-back each day - 4 races to count
Entry fee £15 REFRESHMENTS ARE INCLUDED IN ENTRY FEES
LANGSTONE SC, LANGSTONE ROAD, HAVANT, HANTS, PO9 1RD
Contact Mike Ford, 023 9241 3025 email sailingsec@langstonesc.org.uk Club website – http://www.langstonesc.org.uk*

* Please note there has been some difficulty getting our web-site updated so some info maybe out of date.

Bacon baps will be available pre-racing for a small charge.

Hi.

What are people who are not local to Langstone planning for accommodation? I have looked at a couple of options as below,

Langstone Hotel - £79 room only (1 1/2 miles?)
Bed and Breakfast - £50 to £60 (1 to 2 miles?)
Camping at Fleet Farm Campsite - £10 up to 4 person tent
£20 large tent

Camping is 2 1/2 miles from the club. I may go for camping but need Zoe's agreement first!! May have new tent so quite looking forward to trying it out! Taxi's are meant to be easy enough to get from the campsite, there is a pub next to the campsite as well apparently.

I hope that helps.

Stuart.

Jane mentioned booking a table at the local pub for Saturday night. Is it the same pub that Stuart refers to Jane?

Hi Penny,

The Saturday night pub will most likely be The Ship, which is just across the road from the sailing club. We all went there last year and had a great evening.

The pub i mentioned next to where Zoe and I intend to stay we shall probably go to on the Friday night for dinner and a drink or 2. This is about 2 1/2 miles from Langstone Sailing Club.

Stuart.

For this event, LSC would also like to invite the SPICE fleet to start and race with the ISO fleet on a non-handicap basis.
(The Spice handicap (930v926) indicates they are about 15 secs/hr slower) We are expecting at least one SPICE.

I dunno if I will now be able to make Langstone as I have hurt my knees quite bad in a rugby match and have been told to give it a few weeks before intense activity on it again. Not very happy and will try to make it to the inlands is possible.

Hi

Sailing Instructions will be available on the day. Registration will be from 8am on Saturday and there will also be bacon butties available for a modest fee in the morning. NOR nad a general poster with details is on our website www.langstonesc.org.uk - look under sailing/racing.

The bar will be open from 8pm on Friday evening (cheep beer and wine!). If no-one is around when you arrive find yourself a suitable place to leave your boat in the the dinghy park (the part on the right as you come through the gates is reserved for car parking and I am sure it would be appreciated by club members if you could drop your boat somewhere near the other dinghys and then move your car to the car park.

Hopefully we will repeat last year and go to The Ship (over the raod from the club) to eat on Sat evening.

If anyone has any problems/queries feel free to call Jane or Mark on 023 92 413462.

See you at the week-end.

Jane

Hi being keen on food I've made some enquiries for Saturday evening. Unfortunately the Ship pub we went to last year is fully booked.

I suggest a take away curry at the club if people are interested. I'll try to get menus for us to look at on Saturday morning and we can order the biggest takeaway ever.

See you all at the w/e.

We'll be at the club for at least part of Friday evening.
Mark

Hi.

I'm happy whatever's decided for Saturday night, i think Zoe will be too. Zoe's dad Paul and sister Vicky will also be along to sail my other Buzz (780).

Mark/Jane,

I would like to arrive Friday afternoon so that i've plenty of time to rig both boats before meeting Zoe in the evening, will i be able to get in the compound with the boats or will it be locked?

Thanks,

Stuart.

Hi Stuart, there is no gate on the club entrance so go straight in.

Andrew, I tried the Royal Oak and it can't take large numbers without 3 days notice of everyone ordering their food ..so it's really a no go.

Mark
