Hi,
Following the AGM at the Buzz Nationals this year a new Technical Committee was elected, the job of this committee is to keep the Class Rules up to date, keep track of the availablity and quality of spares and to keep the Buzz a fun boat to own and sail.
I should add at this stage that there are No Plans to totally change the Buzz like some other classes have done with there new boats, which just splits the class and minimised the number of competitive boats able to race. The main aim is to make sure all boats are as competitive as each other, but not eliminate the possibility of some improvements, a couple of examples are;
- allow adjustments of the mainsheet strops by adding a cleat or using D12 rope or similar (D12 or similar is already allowed) - Allow the addition of an extra block on the mainsheet strops so that extra purchase can be added for those who find the main a bit heavy at times
These are just suggestions that we have come up with, we are very keen to hear any ideas that you might have, so please let us know!! However simple or technical they are!!
We await your ideas . . .

Hi Stuart
I would like the tech. committee to look at the kicker arrangement on the BUZZ and to see if a better arrangement can be found. I find myself constantly fould up in the kicker line, could the kicker be cleated off on the gunwale for use by both the helm and crew.

I'd like to see cunningham and kicker 'turned out' for gunwale adjustment as per Mk1 Buzz kicker.
I'd also support the mainsheet strop mods as mentioned by Stu - plus the use of D Rope for trapeze wire length adjcutments - anything that makes the boat more user friendly and easier to sail without creating a 'cheque book' advantage. R |

Hi
Can I add the rudder/tiller tie down to the list. At the BUZZ training session the ruddert blade angle was adjusted. The pin/holes in the tiller can no longer be fitted through the cam so taking adivce I have used a bungee arangement but at higher speed the rubber lifts and ussually results in a swim.
A more traditional method of a line from the rubber blade to a cleat on the tiller may work better.

Hi Mike,
Assuming the holes for the pin were drilled correctly before adjustment then it should still work correctly now if adjusted properly. I'll email you how i adjust mine if you like with photos to explain, you can then let me know if it works.
