Hi, I've been looking to inject a bit of FUN into the weekend, and thought an ISO was just the ticket as we have a few sailing at the Essex Yacht Club.
I found a nice condition ISO out at Burghfield SC and bit the guys arm off. I'm hoping to rig it up properly this weekend and take it for a spin(depending how I get on with rigging up)

Can anyone tell me what the most critical tweaks are for class newbies? Aside from righting lines which are top of my saturday agenda

cheers
Cass

Hi Cass,

As newbies this time last year righting lines as you say are a definate!!!
Make sure you tape the shackles at both ends of the jib luff wire (top and at the space frame) otherwise you may end up shredding the kite as it goes up and down. There is a tweaks page on the main site but it seems to have gone walkies during the server swap...Pete??!!!!

The best thing to do would be to go to a training session as they're the best way of getting tweaks and tips....we regret not attending one last year!
We're trying to put an early season ISO training session together at Herne Bay 11/12 April before the Herne bay event on the 25/26th.If you're interested please See topic;

and put a post on there so we can track interest!
See you on the circuit
Cheers
Alex

I've made a very quick update to the ISO Tweaks. The index page has d
isappeared but I've modded it so you can at least see the content.
http://www.isoracing.org.uk/iso_guides/isotweaks/

- Rig set up to correct settings for the sails.
- Righting lines (thin 3mm rope no more)
- With rig tension on, rake correct, jib and main up, get the kicker
set up so that with no kicker on at all, all three blocks are touching
each other at the top of the cascade.
- Continuous kicker is a nice touch, but get the above kicker tweak c
orrect is a MUST so you can get control of the boat in a breeze.

That will do for now. There are plenty of top ISO'ers at the Essex to
ask.

Pete
