Two Buzzes from Downs are going to this event on Bewl Water, Lamberhurst, Kent. www.bewl-valley-sc.org.uk for notice of race. First start 11.00am, £12 entry, 4 races with 3 to count. I did this last year when reservoir was only a third full and still enjoyed it. Much more water this year and if all else fails the scenery is stunning. See you there. john.

Thanks for the info John, unfortunately Zoe and I can't make it this year as we're racing elsewhere already. May plan to do it next year though, Bewl is a lovely venue and i'm sure our Inlands in October will be very good there.

Stuart and Zoe.

Weather dependant in my eyes - that or a wedding fair or decorating the bathroom!?!?

Hi.

Did anyone do the Bewl Blaster in the end? The forcast of no wind put us off, i believe there was about 6 knots of breeze most of the day though??

Stuart.

Hi Stu,

there were 2 Buzzes at the Bewl Blaster on Sunday; John Cass and myself. The weather was cold with a light wind to start with, but it picked up in the afteroon to full trapezing at times in the fourth race. We had a separate windward/leeward course for the asymmetrics which kept us reasonably clear of the general handicap fleet. I haven't seen the full results yet, but we were third overall and John was close behind us. I really enjoyed it and we even had some sun in the afternoon!

best regards,

Chris Dutton

Yes Julia and I were 7th out of about 16 asymmetrics. Not bad but could do better I've been telling myself. Also a Buzz sailor won the event for the second time in succession but sailing an RS200. (Steve Restall). There was also another Buzz out for a jolly on the reservoir (No. 1001 I think). Very enjoyable day out and a good warm up for the Hoo freezer on 18th Feb.
