Is the Boss Class Association still going? Are owners still alive?
I've just bought Boss 768 and am going to put it back to gether after buying it in pieces from E-bay ( Broken Mast, twin spreader, which I think is repairable, bent mast space frame which can be repaired, no sails and cracked cockpit floor -definately repairable).
It would be great to talk to other Boss sailors and possibly buy some spares. Any old sails in any condition / masts out there?
Does anyone stock any spares?

I'm based in Warrington and sail at SCYC at Abersoch.

Hi Brian,
I sail an Iso and just bought a Boss with some friends to keep as a "toy"....
I still didn't sail it and I don't plan to sail it before spring, but I think we should aim at creating a network for boss sailors in order to collect experience and share information...
I'm already in touch with a couple of boss sailors, I'd suggest that all the active boss sailors reply to this topic so that we can start a thread...
this would make us in a position to look for supliers...

bye

PS: btw, I live in Italy.

Hi Mmonica,

Thanks for the reply. Yes I agree it would be good to have an 'active' discussion group. I too want to sail the Boss as a fun boat, although I do intend to race it occasionally.I'm used to high performance boats having sailed an International 14 for many years.I don't mind keeping a list of active members / boats.
I presume someone else out there is more active than us?
It would be nice to get the Boss website up and running again.
Does anyone out there know who has access rights to update?

Regards,
Brian.

Hi, I think Pete Lindley has the grants for the class web.
I'll ask him directly and I will let you know.

I run the italian class iso association web (www.isoracing.it) , I would have a little time but I alerady have some tools we may use to keep a list of boats, and may have some skills to update the web as well...

bye

Hi,

I live in Belgium and I'm sailing Boss 812 in Holland, mainly at the Veerse Meer and Grevelingen.

Spares is a real problem. Two summers ago i needed a rudder stock. I ordered it finally at Wet and Windy but I needed to wait for it about two months.
